Trade should not be a goal in itself, but rather one of many instruments in developing a country’s production structure, economy, employment and independence. Spire's trade committee is working to fight the increasing gap between rich and poor countries.
Today’s economical structures benefit the rich rather than the poor countries. Unfortunately international trade regulations are negotiated behind closed doors. We believe that this important field must be put under democratic control. Therefore we seek to learn more about the processed at hand, to spread knowledge about them, and to push our politicians to change its practice. Would you like to join us?
The coordinator for the trade committee is Heidi Kilemo, and she can be reached by email: email@example.com
The trade committee's working language for the spring semester 2018 is English.
