The participants in the SEED activist exchange 2025/26 have created a brilliant podcast series. Throughout this year, they have spoken with farmers and experts in Malawi and Norway about how climate change is affecting the agricultural sector. They have collected personal stories from farmers and interviews with experts in a mini podcast series. Now the time has come to share it with the world.

Episode 1: Solidarity for Environment and Development

Episode 2: Malawi’s Smallholder Farmers – Navigating Climate Change and Food Insecurity

Episode 3: Industrial Farming in Norway – Challenges, Climate Solutions and Yara

Episode 4: The Yara campaign – Tackling climate injustice in the fertilizer industry

Reflections from the participants

During our time together in Malawi and Norway, we have learned lessons that no classroom could ever teach. In Malawi, we learned resilience, community spirit, and how people continue to farm and support one another even in difficult climate conditions. We learned the value of sharing, of living closely with nature, and of finding strength in togetherness. In Norway, we learned about sustainable systems, environmental responsibility, innovation, and the importance of long-term planning for the future of our planet. But above all, both countries taught us that people everywhere want dignity, peace, opportunity, and a healthy environment for future generations.

This exchange has shown us that true solidarity is not about one side teaching the other. It is about listening, learning, and growing together equally. A good exchange is one where people are open-minded, willing to understand different cultures, and ready to challenge stereotypes. It becomes better when participants create honest friendships, respect one another’s experiences, and continue the conversations even after the program ends. Through SEED, we have seen how powerful cultural exchange can be in building global citizens who care not only about their own communities, but about the world as a whole.

Today, with the launch of the SEED Podcast, we hear those voices come alive. Voices of farmers in Malawi speaking about droughts, changing seasons, and resilience. Voices of climate activists calling for justice and action. Voices of Norwegian farmers reflecting on sustainability, responsibility, and the realities of a changing world.

This podcast reminds us that climate change may affect us differently, but it connects us deeply. The challenges faced by a farmer in Malawi are not separate from the choices made in Norway. Our world, our food systems, and our future are interconnected.
